The NBA officially released its schedule at noon on August 6, and the World Champion Boston Celtics will tip off the action on Tuesday, October 28 when they host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Garden.
Other highlights include an NBA Finals rematch on Christmas Day with Kobe and the Lakers in Los Angeles, Kevin Garnett's return to Minnesota on November 21, and a Sunday afternoon showdown on March 1 with the Detroit Pistons.
Individual game tickets will go on sale on Friday, September 26, 2008.

Seeds of Peace
On Monday, July 28, Brian Scalabrine joined a handful of his NBA colleagues at the seventh annual Play for Peace basketball clinic at the Seeds of Peace International Camp in Otisfield, Maine.
The camp's mission is to help Palestinian, Israeli, Jordanian, Egyptian and American youths learn to coexist despite a climate of violence and uncertainty in the Middle East.
Celtics Championship Plates Unveiled in Watertown
The Boston Celtics and Registry of Motor Vehicles unveiled the team's newly designed license plate to benefit Children's Hospital Boston at the Watertown RMV on Tuesday, July 22. The new design features the Boston Celtics classic green and white logo of Lucky the Leprechaun with the moniker, "17-Time World Champions". The Celtics originally launched their team license plate in 2006.
